CLRAug

Hi, everyone. Welcome to the latest Candlelight Reads Blog Hop. I’m Barbara Cool Lee, and I write a sweet mystery/romance series called Pajaro Bay.

My latest releases are some fun little stories I’m calling Pajaro Bay Minis: standalone short stories that have a bit of mystery, a bit of romance, and are just the right length to read during a lunch hour or while waiting to pick up the kids from school. They’re only 99¢ right now:

My Funny Valentine: He’s home with the flu. She’s stuck at work. They each think this is going to be the worst Valentine’s Day ever. But before the day is done, they’ll solve a crime–and find each other–all thanks to a lost little pup and a tiny bit of luck.

Beach Blanket Bijou: Dr. Quinn, the handsome dog expert on the evening news, is sought after by every woman in town—except the one he loves from afar: his boss, billionaire heiress Carmen Cordova. So when she suggests a new segment training her dog Bijou at the family’s lavish estate on the coast, he’s happy to oblige. But little Bijou’s got a secret—and it just might get them all killed….

And now for the contest: What are books that make your heart go pitter-patter when you read them? Leave a comment below about a favorite read, and you’ll be automatically entered to win a $5 Amazon Gift Card. One winner will be picked at random after the hop ends on August 18. Be sure to check back to see if you are a winner! Good luck and enjoy the blog hop. ~ Barb

When you say “pitter-patter”, I think of romance. I loved the *Sweet Dreams* YA romance series of the 80s and 90s. Among those, Janet Quin-Harkin was a wonderful author, who wrote many good YA romances, including some spin-offs of the SD series. (Sadly, she later stopped writing YA, and now only writes adult mysteries under the name Rhys Bowen.)

Another great pitter-patter author is Lurlene McDaniel, who wrote YA books about kids/teens with cancer and such conditions, during the 80s and 90s.

Showing my age here….LOL. Yeah, I was a teen in the mid-90s.

  6. Juana Esparza

All books by Jennifer L. Armentrout.

  7. Marissa

Jane Eyre! 🙂 Thanks for the chance!

  8. Barbara Cool Lee Post author

Isn’t it interesting how many people choose Gone With the Wind as a favorite? It was published in 1936, and still resonates with so many people today.

Other authors listed so far: Alexandra Bracken, Susan Ee, Courtney Cole, Erich Segal (Love Story).

Keep commenting with your favorite books/authors, and I’ll compile a list with links for anyone who’d like to check them all out.

    Thanks for visiting, everyone!
